How do I link each photo in a gallery to its relevant page?
-
I’m trying to use Pictorio. I want readers to be able to click on an image and have it lead to the relevant page, the way the example does, where clicking on an image of food leads to that recipe. I can get the gallery up and put captions on each photo, but clicking on them just leads to a gallery show across the top.
I want, for example, to have photos of each member of our crew. Clicking on the photo leads to a brief bio of that person. How do I link each image to its page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Sarah,
In Pictorico, those images are not actually a gallery, they are how the theme uses featured images to link to posts. If you create posts for recipes (or in this case a profile for each member of your crew), and then set a photo of your dish or the crew member as the featured image, it would appear on the front page as a tile.
If you check out Pictorico’s theme info page, there’s some help available on how to do some of these things:

And if you run in to any trouble, please let me know!

Hi Ash,
Thanks for your reply. However, I don’t want the photos of each crew member to be featured in that big banner at the top of the page. I think that would look weird. All I want is to make each photo link to a page, e.g., Patrick’s page. The photo of Patrick would appear on the parent page (which is NOT the landing page) and on Patrick’s page, but in a normal size for a portrait, e.g., medium. Can that be done? I may not be asking the question properly, but I don’t see it in the general Pictorio info. I’m going to see if a Sticky Post does the trick.
I’m busy at work and have a sick family member, so am a little slow to respond, but I do appreciate your answer.

Hi Sarah,
Oh, are you talking about the slider at the top of the page? Posts only appear there if you want them to! You have to specify a very specific tag in order for a post to show up there:
To set up Pictorico‘s post slider:
Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
Enter the name of a tag.
Click the blue Save button at the bottom.
Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1180px wide.
Give the post the tag you declared under Appearance → Customize → Featured Content. From: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/pictorico/
So you can still set up each team member’s profile page to have a featured image of them, but it won’t show up in the slider unless you direct the site to. Does that make sense?
