How do I link my books for sale on my blog?

  I follow many blogs with wordpress.com that has links to author’s books. I would like to do that on my blog. I’m not able to and another friend says I have to go to a .org account. I don’t want to lose my 350 archived blogs from wordpress.com. What do I do. Thanks you, Dan McGuire (www.bakoheat.com)

  Hi Dan,

  What is an example of the links you’re trying to add and how is it not working?

  Also, while looking at your account, I noticed that you have a number of upgrades that are included in our Premium Bundle and could save by bundling them together. The domain registration/mapping, VideoPress, and Custom Design (in addition to No Ads and 10 GB of additional space) are included in the bundle for $99/year.

  Would you be interested in combining those so we could save you a bit of coin?

  Thanks for your response. I lost track of the email and will try to give more detail. First of all, YES, I would like the bundle for $99 per year.
  Regarding the linking, I would like to have my book cover in the right hand column where my archives and calendar are. I would like the cover to link to my book sale site on Amazon or I-books or Nook plus more. I don’t know how to do this. My book cover will be finished in a few days and the book will be uploaded on these sites. I have four other books in the editing process and hope I can also link those. I don’t know what tools to use and how to upload the book cover.
  Let me know what I need to do to upgrade to the above mentioned package

  Howdy,

  First, regarding your account, I changed things around as such:

  • Removed the individual upgrades for Custom Design and VideoPress ($90/yr combined)
  • Refunded your $18 paid for the domain, since WordPress.com Premium includes a credit for a domain
  • Since we need next year’s renewal in time to renew the domain name, the expiration for the new Premium bundle is January 4, 2015
  • I didn’t change either of your space upgrades. The Premium bundle has 10 GB included, while your upgrades are for 25GB and 50GB.
  • The above noted, I see you’re not using that much space at the moment. Unless you’ll upload quite a bit soon, I’d suggest disabling the auto-renewal for those upgrades and let them expire (in April and May respectively) You can do that via your My Upgrades page.
  • Lastly, WP Premium includes “Private Registration”, which hides your domain registration information from the public system, and replaces it with a third-party intermediary. You can enable that at no extra charge, also on your My Upgrades page.
  • The expiration date math works out a bit in your favor, but I’m okay with that if you are ;-)

  Sure thing. For the book cover, when you get the electronic version of it. You can upload it to your Media Library at https://bakoheat.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media-new.php and then use the Image Widget in Appearance->Widgets to add the image, linked to Amazon, or whomever, there. More about the image widget, and step-by-step instructions, can be found on our support page at Image Widget.
