How do I link to an external site

  I need a button at the top of my blog that if pushed goes to an external link in a new tab.

  I can’t even make my links go to an external site.

  Can anyone tell me how to do this.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  my follow up question is: “How can i make the button itself link to an external site?”

  i just want when someone pushes the button on the navigation menu for it to link directly to an external site in a new tab.

  the link in the body text in the about page “dunlan” works.

  what i am hoping to find is how to link the ‘about’ button directly to the external link so when the button is pushed it goes directly to the external link.

  yes i did. click on ‘about’ page.. then click on ‘dunlan’.. it works.

  Type the complete URL starting with http:// for the blog in question into the comment box in this thread.

  it is irrelevant. the point is that i want to know how to make it so that when someone clicks the ‘about’ button, it directly links to an external site in another tab.

  currently it goes to a page. do you understand my question.

  Once you type the complete URL starting with http:// for the blog in question into the comment box in this thread, I will click the link and be able to see the blog you are on about and determine how to help you.

  The URL isn’t irrelevant. We need to see the blog in order to answer accurately.

  http://test111111234.wordpress.com/ is the URL of the blog.

  Now, what you need is a Custom Menu. You can put any link in your header you want, and name it anything that you want. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
