How do I locate my blog's wp-content folder in order to download to computer?
-
I am converting my blog from WP.com to WP.org and it will be hosted by BlueHost. I’m told, in addition to downloading the XML file, I need to also locate and download the wp-content folder. Can you please explain where I’d find this file and how I go about downloading it?
Thanks you.

Hey April!
In order to move your content to your Bluehost-hosted WordPress.org site, you will only need your exported XML file.
Here is information about how to export your WordPress.com site:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/Give this a try, do your import into WordPress.org, and let me know how this works for you. Many thanks!

That’s what I thought, so I was really confused. I was told the wp-content folder wasn’t included in the XML file. I will give that a try.
Thanks!

That seems to have worked, but now I need to have my stats and subscribers transferred over.
-
Hey there!
In order to transfer your subscribers and stats, you will have to install and activate Jetpack on your self-hosted site. I see that you have two Jetpack sites already, and several WordPress.com sites.
Could you please tell me what WordPress.com site you want your stats and followers to come FROM, and what Jetpack site you want them moved TO?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Hi! Sorry for my delay in response. So I transferred apriljmoore.com (WP.com) to WP.org–same domain name. It’s still not live apparently because the name servers haven’t gone through yet. Should that matter? Jetpack is installed on the self hosted site.
Thank you for your help!
-
Great! It looks like the name servers have gone through on my end, but I’m landing on a Bluehost parked page instead of your site. Can you make sure your domain is fully set up on the Bluehost end?
Once you’ve done that, you can visit your blogs in WordPress.com:
http://wordpress.com/my-sites/
Select your new WordPress.org site and select Settings from the sidebar. At the bottom, select “migrate followers”.

Then just let me know you’ve done all of that and I can transfer your stats. :)

Thanks. That’s strange, I’m not sure why it’s not showing up…I’ll call BH and find out and hopefully get this figured out. Thanks!
-
Okay, there was a problem with BH and they fixed it. The problem now, is that when I go to My-sites, it says that there’s an issue with my Jetpack, but when I checked it, it’s fully installed and working fine. My-sites says I can’t access the settings for that site.
-
Can you try disconnecting and reconnecting your Jetpack plugin from WordPress.com? There was likely just a little change that affected the way Jetpack connects.
-
Okay, when you say WP.com, do you mean from my old site? Or the new self hosting one? I didn’t have Jetpack on my old WP.com site.

I was able to get to the page: https://wordpress.com/manage/84475002
At the top, it has http://www.apriljmoore.com and then under that is Jetpack Monitor. Then below that is Move Followers from a WordPress.com site. I then choose apriljmoore.wordpress.com from the drop down menu? If I click “migrate” that will send them to my self hosted site?
Sorry for the many questions! -

Yep! That’s exactly how it works. :)

Hmm. I’m seeing stats going back quite a ways here:

Can you grab a screenshot of what you’re seeing and upload it to your Media Library here:

Okay, I did that. And it’s certainly not a huge deal; I was more concerned about getting my subscribers moved over, but it is weird.
