How do I log out of the site?

I have searched every drop-down and button on the entire site but cannot find a single way to actually LOG OUT of the site. There used to be a “gear” on my home page that had a drop-down with “Logout” in it. That has gone now. So, how di P log out: Just exit and go away or what?

Make sure you aren’t running a browser add-on like Ghostery by temporarily disabling it and all add-ons like it, and then temporarily disable private incognito browsing.
Go to https://wordpress.com/ and click your Gravatar first, then look next to your username in the left sidebar to locate the sign-out link.

BTW this is unrelated to your issue but I see that you are using a very old retired theme. Themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress features. The recommendation is to change themes and as the theme called Able replaced that one here’s the link https://wordpress.com/themes/able/
Themes are just “skins”. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

All that just to log out of this site? That’s nuts!
On the home page, it appears my gravitar is missing also so I have nothing to click.
Wouldn’t it be far simpler to just have a big “Log Out” button on the home page? Holy cow, man, talk about obfuscation.

Okay. I can now see where the gravatar is supposed to be, but nothing was there – no gravitar – until I completely closed the browser and restarted it. I have Ghostery on all the time, and this site is whitelisted, but still no gravitar until I “unwhitelisted” it, closed, restarted, and then “whitelisted” it again.
Apparently my new theme is working now also.
Quite a process, I must say.

No need to do that, Timethief. I now have my gravitar back and there is a log-out link next to the bottom of the pop-down.
