How do I make a blank HTML/CSS page?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m genuinely confused here.

I don’t want to start off with a template I just want t start off with a blank page where I can import HTML and CSS to make the page work the way I want it.

    How do I do this?

    Thank you

Hi there, WordPressdotcom (and also the standalone WP version) is a content management system (CMS) that uses a template to populate your posts and pages from the information that you add in the Post or Page Editor.

You can write your posts and pages in the Text/HTML editor and add CSS in the Customizer’s CSS Editor (if you have Premium or Business), but ultimately those affect the template in use on your site.

In other words, you don’t start from scratch with a WordPress/WordPressdotcom site. At the very least your site contains a template with demo content.

Where are you trying to import your HTML and CSS from? Have you read this Support guide to importing https://transferto.wordpress.com/drag-and-drophtml-site-builders/
