How do I make a Featured Image in the Visual theme?
-
How do I get my Visual theme blog to look like the Visual theme blog demo? My posts and pages just appear with their images below meta data instead of having the image be on top of the post, like in the demo.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I see that you’ve switched your blog to the Mixfolio theme. Would you like any help setting that up on your blog?
If you’d like, you can also switch back to the Visual theme on your blog and I’d be happy to help you get it set up like the demo. Just let me know if I can do anything to help. :)

Thanks, rachelmcr! Is there any way to have a normal style blog post in Mixfolio, one that does not show up as a box at the top of the page? Also, it it possible to have a “blog within a blog” without using a different url for the second blog?

Hi there,
Is there any way to have a normal style blog post in Mixfolio, one that does not show up as a box at the top of the page?
The blog page in Mixfolio displays each of your latest blog posts in a box with a featured image, and the title appears as you hover over the box. That’s how the theme is designed — there isn’t an alternate design for that blog page. You can see how it looks on the Mixfolio demo site here: http://mixfoliodemo.wordpress.com/
If you’re looking for a more traditional blog page where you see the full contents of the post there, you may want to consider using a different theme. The Visual theme will show the post contents along with the featured image, for example, and I’d be happy to help you get that working like the demo.
Also, it it possible to have a “blog within a blog” without using a different url for the second blog?
When you set up a blog here at WordPress.com, there isn’t a way to have a second, separate blog at the same URL. However, you can use Category Pages to create somewhat separate streams of posts from one blog. If you have two main categories and you assign each post to one of those categories, you can set up category pages to show the posts on two different pages on the site.
Alternately, you could set up a second blog at a different URL but use the same theme on each blog. Then, you can use Custom Menus to set up the same menu on each blog, making it look like the two blogs are linked.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
