how do I make a list

  I would like to make a list. I tried using the text widget but it does not seem to recognize returns/enter for going to the next line. Is there a widget that for making lists? If so where would I find it?

  You can actually use the post editor and do your list in there. You can even use the unordered (bulleted) or ordered (numbered) list functions. When the list is the way you want it, then switch to the HTML tab, copy all the code in that window and then paste it into the text widget.
