How do I make a PayPal Donate button in a widget on my sidebar

  I followed all of those instructions given on the WordPress support (http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/) about how to make a paypal button, and all I ended up with is a POST of a Paypal button, not a WIDGET ON MY SIDEBAR that stays there permanently, rather than being a one-off post that disappears off the front page with the next post….. If I copy the Wepage code from Paypal into the widget textbox, nothing shows on the page, and if I copy the Email code, the code itself appears on the blog, NOT the image of a button.

  Finally, success!!!!

  But your instructions end too soon!! There are three more steps:

  Step 15: Switch back to Text Editor (from Visual), select all, and copy
  Step 16: Go to Appearances – Widgets – Text, and paste the code into the message body. Put what you like in the Title.
  Step 17: Save.

  I hope this saves someone else the PAIN I had to go throrugh to get to this point grrrrrrrrr
