How do I make a welcome statement?

Hi, I am currently using the theme Dara and earlier I was looking at the info section and on the site that they display underneath the featured blog posts it says Welcome and underneath that is a little excerpt. I want to get that on my site but I don’t know how and it doesn’t say how on the info page either. Please help!!!

The Welcome to Dara section on the Dara demo site at https://darademo.wordpress.com/ is just a featured post appearing in the slider on the front page. You already have the slider set up on your site.
The text appearing underneath starting with We are Dara is the content added to the home page. To add content to the page on your site, go to My Site ->Pages and edit the page titled Home. Add content to the page and update, and it will appear on your site.

Also how do I get rid of the options that say share this? It’s located right under the word Home.

Thanks for contacting us! If you’re interested in getting rid of Sharing options, please check out the following link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/. Scroll down until you reach the section where it says “Customize Your Services” and it will walk you through removing those Share buttons.

Go to My Site ->Pages and edit the page titled Home. In the editor settings sidebar on the right, click on Sharing, and disable the sharing buttons.
@sfig21, the OP is asking how to remove sharing buttons on a specific page. The instructions you provided is for the default settings on the site, and will have no effect whatsoever on posts or pages that are already published. Please make sure you understand the question before attempting to answer.
