how do I make categories??? totaly lost

I have looked and looked and obviously must be blind because everybody else is able to find and use them exept me. Where are the Categories when I edit or write my BLOG? Somebody help.

They are in the column of blue headers to the right of the Write box. The categories don’t exist until you type them into the Category box, though; we all start with the default “Uncategorized”. You have to put in your own tags.

Categories are in a couple of places. If you just want to create and edit what categories are available to you, then go to your Admin => Manage => Categories. There you can create and edit what categories are available to you when you post.
When you are in the create post or page screen, on the right hand side there is a + beside the categories section (if it is not shown already) and you can place check marks beside your categories. It also has an option there to create a new category.

When you are writing a post – In the top right-hand corner you will see the word “categories” .
Click on this and you will see a space where you can type whatever word (s) you wish to use to describe your story.
You can add as many categories/descriptions/tags as you want.
You must ‘save’ your post for these to appear. -
