how do i make it so the blog titles are displayed over a picture on my homepage?

  how do i make it so the blog titles are displayed over a picture on my homepage? i have the columnist appearance setting.

  Hi,

  For The Columnist theme, on the Edit Post screen for each post, you would need to set a featured image before an image will appear on your blog home page for each post.
