How do I make my blog genuinely private?

    If I set a blog to private under Settings > Reading, all that does is block the main page. If someone has a link directly to an individual post or page, they can still access that post or page even if the blog is set to private. How do I make all posts and pages completely private as well, so that no public access is possible?
