How do I make my blog page (not blog post) display as a portfolio format? Please, help.

I read somewhere that I need to activate custom portfolio content type but I don’t know how to get there.

Every theme has a detailed theme description page. This one is at https://wordpress.com/theme/snaps that’s where set up instructions for it and the live demo site link is found.
