How do I make my blog password protected

  • Unknown's avatar

I can’t seem to figure out how to make my page password protected. I only want people who I give the password to to be allowed to read. I’ve read the directions over and over and I can’t get it. I’m on an iPhone if that matters. I need detailed directions.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

This is very simple to do, simply set the site to “private” as explained here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

“I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.”

The blog is now “password protected” in that only you and logged in users can see it’s content.

To add a new user to the blog you can either invite them – http://support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

Or they can request access via the page which comes up for the blog for an unauthorised user (see first link above), “request access”

iPhone shouldn’t matter, although I think it would be easier and quicker on a larger screen :)

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

PS “The blog is now “password protected” in that only you and logged in users can see it’s content.” … to clarify – logged in AND authorised by you users …
