Hi doreenstelton,
You’re blog is fairly new and it can take some time for it to start showing up in search engine results. You can read the following for more info:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
You can also sign up for Google’s webmaster tools to possible make it go a little quicker:
-
I was unsuccessful in verifying.
It takes weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
What attracts search engines is unique content in posts (not pages) that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Start now publishing original content posts frequently two or even three times weekly. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/

Hello, Thank you for your response. Also I recently learned that I can buy my blog name without the bloodspot.
so
verdantfaerie.com
instead of
(email visible only to moderators and staff)I already purchased Verdantfaerie.com from Go daddy. I have not built a site there. Can I still buy verdantfaerie.com from wordpress? or merge them?
-
Since you already own verdantfaerie.com, you can buy the domain mapping upgrade from WordPress.com to map it to your WordPress.com site. The following links should point you in the right direction:

Thank you for all of the help.
I purchased an upgradeto map and think I switched the DNS successfully. I know the explanation says it may take awhile to adjust and appear. How long might that be?I did it about 6 hours ago. Now when I try to get to my site I get to the GoDaddy holding page.
Wondering if I did something wrong that should be corrected, or if this is normal?
Thanks

It can take up to 72 to hours for DNS changes to propagate, depending on what the Time To Live (TTL) was previously set to and depending on how long it’s been since a particular DNS server has checked for changes to a websites IP address.
If you’re interested in reading more about TTLs in relation to DNS, take a look at the DNS section of this wikipedia page:

Hello again,
It has been over 72 hours since I switched my email address. I still do not get my website. I am still directed to the go daddy holding page.
How can I trouble shoot?
Thanks

The name servers for verdantfaerie.com are currently pointing to:
ns03.domaincontrol.com. [‘216.69.185.2’] [TTL=172800]
ns04.domaincontrol.com. [‘208.109.255.2’] [TTL=172800]They need to point to:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThis is something you’ll do at the registrar where you purchased the domain.

Hello – I have thing I am needing help with.
I have had two people make comments on pages, and received the notification emails. However the comments do not appear anywhere for me to approve them.
Another person also tried to follow my blog and I received an email notification, but it does not show that she is following.
Please advise!
Thanks.

You should be able to see the comments in the wp-admin dashboard. Try this link:

Do you have more than one WordPress.com account? Is it possible that the comments are for a blog under a different account?
