How do I make my header only show in the home page and not the other pages?

Hi all!
So I’m new to WP. Extremely new! :). I’m building my blog, and I want to add a header (which is allowed in my template). I did with ease, but then when I go to the other pages, the header is there and it looks awkward. The header in my template gets inserted below the title and subtitle, so it takes a lot of space. I was wondering, is it possible not to have the header in the other pages, but only in the home page? If it’s doable, can you explain me how to achieve that with words I can understand? I read other posts about this but they were all kind of ambiguous.

We Volunteers cannot view private blogs so we don’t know which theme you are using, cannot examine what you have done and assist you. Only Staff can view private blogs so I tagged this thread for their attention.

I think the header is static on every page. You might want to a theme with a smaller header.

Oh, hi timethief! Thanks for replying. It’s still private because there is almost nothing in it so is not ready for publishing :/. I’m using Penscratch theme! Does that help?

That response is no accurate when it comes to every theme. How do you know which theme is being used by elainemin? -

Yes it’s possible but you will need to purchase the premium upgrade bundle https://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ containing the custom design upgrade to do the required CSS editing.
