How do I make my Pages looks different from the Homepage?
-
Hi. Im really enjoying building my blog. However every new page I make uses the exact same features as the homepage – e.g. it has the “About me” block and the list of recent posts. How do I keep these on the homepafge, but remove them from all the other pages? Many thanks

Hi there! 👋🏼
For this, I suggest adding a new template to your site, “Front Page” — it will make your home page stand out, while the rest of the pages on your site will look different (the way you customize the “Page” template).
💡 Here’s how to create a Front Page template:
- Navigate to Appearance → Editor → Templates → All templates
(direct link: https://antonhodge.wordpress.com/wp-admin/site-editor.php?path=%2Fwp_template%2Fall) - Click on the “Add new template” button (top-right)
- Click on the “Front Page” from the popup dialog.

(if you can’t see the screenshot, click here)Then, after you configured your Front Page template, you’ll want to modify the “Page” template that will be used for all other pages on your site:
The Page template is used for standard pages on your site, such as an About or Contact page. Pages using this template will have the same overall layout, ensuring a consistent experience for visitors browsing through your site. This guide will show you how to customize the page template. When to Edit the Page Template If your site uses a theme that supports the site editor, you can access - Navigate to Appearance → Editor → Templates → All templates
