How do I make posts not show fully on the homepage but just a excerpt?

    Hey guys,

I just started out my blog and I have a problem with the front page. I would only like to show a excerpt of each article on the front page and if someone wants to read it fully, they should have a “continue reading” button. The only problem is that I can’t seem to get that working. I already changed that in Settings, choosing that for every article in the feed, I don’t want it to be shown in fully but just a excerpt, but that isn’t working.

    Any ideas here?

  • I think you changed the feed settings. Instead you want to look into adding the More tag to your posts where you want to have the page break, however some themes do this differently and you can set an excerpt.

Tht said, it looks like you have a self-hosted WordPress.org site. This forum is strictly for WordPress.com hosted sites.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.
