How do I make posts private without losing the original post date?
-
I’ve had this blog for almost seven years and I wanted to make the majority of the posts private. When I did so, WordPress eliminated my original post dates, WHICH I DID NOT WANT! How do I restore all of my original post dates while still making most of my posts private?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That should not have happened. Try locating post revisions.

Hi there,
I’m checking through the list of your posts found here:
https://wanderinghen.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post
While I see that quite a few of them have been made private, it looks like the post dates are still set sometime quite far in the past. Could you point me to a specific example where the post date on a post was changed when you switched it to private?

Thank you very much for your help. It is a bit odd. Now all of my posts are showing the correct dates. When I first set everything up to “Private,” all the posts showed the same date. Perhaps it just took a minute? It seems to have corrected itself. Very sorry for bothering you, but, again, thanks! I enjoy WordPress; I don’t want to have to “move.”

Great! I’m glad the dates are still set correctly. If you notice this happening again, please let us know. We enjoy having you at WordPress.com; don’t want you to move!
