How do I make summary appear on my blog?

How do I make summaries appear for a post, instead of the entire article? I tried the “for each article in a feed show summary (under settings), but it has not changed anything.

Try the More Tag

I think there is some excerpt thing but I never use it.

you can use the <–more tag–>. You will have to insert it manually in html view in the place in your content where you want the the viewer to click to keep reading

You can find the More Tag button in the first row of the Visual editor toolbar. It’s the icon to the right of the broken link icon and it looks like a split page. Or by pressing Alt+Shift+T Note that the more tag is not displayed in post previews, since previews display posts in entirety, but the more tag will appear once the post has been published. Use the link that auxclass posted to locate illustrated instructions. -
