How do I make sure I don't lose my WordPress.com followers when I move to .org?

  If I move over to WordPress.org, will my WordPress.com followers still be able to read my updated blog posts in their reader?

  Yes, if you prepare your new .org site with the Jetpack plugin (which provides WordPress.org sites with many of the WordPress.com features) you can retain your followers.
