How do I make the Full Website version the default view in Mobile?

    Hi,

When I check the mobile version of my website, there’s a button at the end of the page that says ‘Visit full website’ and it’s how the website looks on Desktop. I want that version to be the default version on mobile. I don’t want to have two versions on mobile. Can you please help me? Thanks.

That’s not a very good idea as the Full Website View on a smartphone is almost imossible to read unless you start zooming in to the part you want to read. The strength of a responsive theme is the fact it’s readable on every device and screen resolution.

  • Hi there,

In addition to what @staartmees said, there’s no way to force the desktop version of the theme on mobile for a WordPress.com site – the only place this can be forced is in the settings of the browser itself, so it’s up to individual visitors to your site whether they want to force this.

On our premium plan or higher you can use custom CSS to override the theme’s styling and break the mobile responsiveness, but we don’t provide support for that kind of change. Also note that doing this will ruin your site’s search ranking – search engines prefer sites that are mobile responsive.
