How do I make the link connect outside my site?

  My image is linking to mysite.com/link and not the proper link. I have created a post and copied the html to insert into the sidebar so I can use custom icons for social media, but when you click on them they connect back to mysite.com/link and I can’t figure out how to fix this. I have checked the link in the image and it just lists the link site I want… why is it inserting my website in front of that?

  Hi,

  With the html code, you’ll need to use the full address (e.g. http://twitter.com/username and not just twitter.com/username). Without the http:// browsers are programmed to assume the links are “relative” and still on the same site.
