How do I map an old wordpress domain to a new wordpress Blog?

Hi,
We had created website through a wordpress blog buying a domain name with wordpress: aucklandcentraldance.com.
The creator of the original blog decided to leave the business and as the blog was created with her personal workpress account she asked to transfer the blog to a different account. Which we have done. It’s now under my own account. And the old blog has now been deleted by the previous owner.
The issue is, even though the old blog doesn’t exist anymore and aucklandcentraldance.com was bought through wordpress registrar, I can’t map the domain name with this new blog, it still says that it’s been used by another site.
I have been trying to access wordpress registrar to see if I could organize this through changing the DNS as suggested in this support page (https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/) but I don’t know where to access the wordpress registrar.
Can you help me with this?

I checked under your account and did not see the custom domain aucklandcentraldance.com as a purchase. Whois is also stating that the domain is still available for purchase. Did you receive any confirmation of the purchase?
Thankfully, the domain is still showing as available on our end as well. So, all you’ll need to do is follow the steps on our support page to officially add the domain to your centraldancestudios.wordpress.com blog.

Thank you for getting back to me.
Sorry, the domain name we purchased is:
AUCKLANDCENTRALDANCESTUDIOS.COM
The domain name was purchased end of January by the business. It was bought either under the name “Auckland Central Dance studios” or under the name Geraldine Clermont, who is the previous owner of the business.
We recieved on Monday on our email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) an email from wordpress with in it an Authorization Info code and saying:
“In accordance with auDA policies, we are providing to you a domain name password (authorization info). This password (authorization info) will be required in the event that you decide to transfer this domain; and it may be required to authenticate our communications with you (for instance, if you wish to update your contact information or change your nameserver information).”So normally we should be able to transfer the domain name we purchased at the begining of the year to this new website

Ah…gotcha. So, the issue is that neither aucklandcentraldancestudios.com nor aucklandcentraldancestudios.wordpress.com is currently under your account. They are both still under the previous owner’s account.
I only see centraldancestudios.wordpress.com under your account.
If you all did attempt to get the blog and domain transferred, I’m not sure what happened. However, our support page provides instructions on how to transfer blogs to another account and how to transfer domain upgrades. You will need to have the current owner follow those instructions.
Alternatively, you can have the owner contact us with this request and we would be happy to transfer both the blog and domain for you.

In order to verify ownership, is it possible to have the current owner contact us? Since the blog and the domain are currently under their account, I will need their official consent before proceeding with the transfer.

you could also have the old owner log in with their account and post in this thread – using small clear words that they would like specific upgrades transferred to your account – each upgrade needs to be called out specifically as well as your account
