How do I migrate a wordpress.ORG blog to become a wordpress.COM site?

I have a blog using WordPress.org, but because of the terribly S-L-O-W rendering of pages by my domain hosting company, I feel the need to migrate it to become a WordPress.com site. (I love my WP blogs, and I know the “too slow” problem is NOT a WP problem.)
It’s taking between 30 and 60 seconds to render

      every single page

! I’ve talked to my domain hosting company, and they have been far less than optimistic about ever getting my wp.ORG blog to render any faster. I know this isn’t wp.ORG’s problem, because I do not find this problem with any other person’s blog I have visited.
How can I make the change from a wp.ORG blog to a wp.COM blog, please?
Actually, I don’t mind starting from scratch with a brand new wp.COM blog, because I don’t have that much on my current blog (it’s in formative stages). But WordPress.com won’t let me create a wp.COM create a new blog using the name on my wp.ORG blog because it’s, of course, already used.
Also, I will want to map the domain I own to the new wp.COM blog.
What are the steps I need to shut down the wp.ORG site and create a new wp.COM blog? Are there instructions for how to map my domain to the wp.COM blog?
    MANY thanks!!

This is a post about both wp.COM and wp.ORG — closing down one and opening it up new on the other. Since what I want to do is end up on wp.COM, that’s why I posted it here.
However, following your advice, I will also post it on wp.ORG.
Anyone on this forum who can answer my questions, I’d still appreciate hearing from you on this forum. Thanks!
