How do I move a developing site from my personal account to a non-profit org. account for public use?

I’m working with a committee to set up a site to be used by a non-profit org. as a public directory linked to their main WordPress organizational site. I still need to retain editing and updating authority but that will also be shared with others. I would like to keep a copy of the draft site in my account as a back-up. My site is free and we use a free theme but they have a paid account. I have some editing and posting authority on their main site. Is there a way to accomplish this with little or no risk to the new transferring site?

    Hi there,

You may use our export feature to import the site’s content into a new site on WordPress.com as a backup. Here’s how to export the site:

    Export Your Website’s Content

    Then use the import tool:

    Import a Website

If the site is hosted outside of WordPress.com you may need to keep it hosted outside of WordPress.com to upload a theme (or upgrade to the business plan) your host may also have staging and backup options.
