How do I move a post in my blog to a page of it's own

  How can I move a post from my blog to it’s own page? My wordpress site is http://www.susan-hawthorne.com and I want to move what I’ve put in the blog to two separate pages and move what I have on my Favorite New Authors Page to the blog.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Susan,

  Regarding moving your Favorite New Authors content to the post, you’d need to copy and paste the content to a new “Post” within your WordPress.com Dashboard. Once done, then it’ll act like a blog post in all respects (folks can see it via the WordPress.com Reader, any followers will be notified that it was published, etc).

  For the two current blog posts, while they do already have their own pages, per se, ( http://susan-hawthorne.com/2013/10/02/critiques-what-can-they-do-for-me-and-how-do-i-get-one/ for example), if you would like to make them static pages, you’d need to likewise copy and paste the content into a new Page for each item.

  Once changes are done, then you can delete the former posts/pages. Comments, however, would be lost.

  That said, what’s your end goal? I’d like to better understand what you’re wanting to achieve.

  That’s what I was afraid the answer would be, lol.
  It’s a new blog and I just want to change the organization of it a bit. :)
  I wish you could have more than one “blog” type page at the same site.

  Hi Susan,

  Have you looked into Category Pages? When you categorize a post, each category has a page for all posts with that category (e.g. http://example.wordpress.com/category/books to list all posts with the category of “Books”).

  You could categorize each post, and have the category pages in the menu. Would that work for the organization you’re looking to use?

  No, but people will follow the blog and get updates in their email, I don’t think categorizing will make that happen correctly, will it?

  Hi Susan,

  Yes—as long as the content is in a “Post”, it’ll be sent out to everyone. Using the Category feature will simply make it easier for folks visiting your website to find particular posts based on the categories you decide work best for your site.
