    Hi Celine,

I am not clear if you are asking how to move a post’s excerpt to a different page or you would like to move the entire post itself to a different page. If you are asking about changing posts into pages, there is not a way to change their “type” on WordPress.com . You will have to copy and paste the contents of the post into the page you’d want it on.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Jan

To make it more clear. I have a post on Home page but I want that post on my photos page instead. I have to copy/paste the post onto a new post on the photos page and then delete the other post?

No way to just transfer or move the post?

    Hi Celine,

You’ve reached support for WordPress.com blogs. The site you’ve indicated (http://www.canadianvoyageurs.com) is running the free version of WordPress available from WordPress.org.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

    http://codex.wordpress.org/

If you need any professional help for your self-hosted WordPress(.org) blogs, please check out our suggested WordPress professionals here:

This is about mywildcanada.com – this is where I usually get help – (that’s why I came here). Can I please have my question answered?

    Hi Celine,

Sorry for the confusion about which site you’re working on. If you’d like posts in a certain category to appear on another page, you can set up a category page. That page will only show the posts from that specific category. We have a guide for that here: Category Pages

However, your site is set up to show your latest posts on the front page. There isn’t a way to exclude certain posts from showing up in the list of latest posts — all your posts will appear there.

One way to change that is to have your front page show a static page, instead. Then, you can have your latest blog posts on a different page or just set up several different category pages to control where your posts appear on the site. We have a guide for setting up a static front page here: Front Page

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

I see how it works. I think.
I have opened a PAGE – mywildcabin living off grid – I would like it appear as post and show on on home page BUT I don’t want it on that page only – I want it where it is – but it’s not a post – it’s a page. so that is why it is not appearing on home page.

I think I have it figured out – I just don’t think this template is set up to do what I wanted…

Ah, I see what you mean. Content that you add to pages won’t appear on your home page — no matter what theme you use, that page will only show blog posts, not content from pages.

If you want something to appear on both your home page and another page, I’d recommend setting up a category page instead of a regular page. For example, if you use the category “Photo Album” you can set up a Photo Album category page. Then, you can add the category “Photo Album” to any post you want to have on both your home page and that Photo Album page.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
