How do I move a widget from one sidebar to the another?
-
In the old dashboard you could just click and drag.
When I try to move my RSS or Text widget to another sidebar, it loses its info and goes blank. So can I move it?

This covers text and RSS widgets, but the procedure is the same. For widgets other than RSS and text, you don’t have to copy out and save any content.
If it is a text widget or RSS widget you wish to remove, open it in its current location and copy out the title and content and put it into a plain text file. Then click the “remove button on the bottom of the open widget, then click “save changes.”
Click on the pulldown and select the sidebar where you want to put the widget and click “show.” Click on the type of widget you wish to insert in the “available widgets” box. When it appears in the sidebar, drag it to where you want it in the sidebar, click “save changes.” Now open the widget and insert the title and/or content into the blank widget. Click “save changes.”

Aw, I was afraid of that. We have to copy/paste into a text file and all that? That’s super inconvenient compared to how it used to be (literally dragging and dropping it in a new sidebar). Especially since I move my widgets around a lot.
Hmm… this is not good.

Yes, inconvenient is being kind. It looks like (speculation based on following trac.wordpress.org) they are going to change things so that we can select from previously used text and RSS widgets, but I have no idea when that change will be.
