How do I move an old Post forward.

  Is there an easy way to move an old post to the top, or do I have to delete it and add it as a new post?

  You can edit the post to change its publish date/time which will move it up chronologically: https://wordpress.com/support/posts/#post-settings

  Or, if you want the post to be at the top permanently, you can make it a sticky post: https://wordpress.com/support/post-and-page-visibility/#sticky-posts-posts-only
