    Hi there,

All you need to do is perform an export of your content using our exporter, instructions for which is right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

And then you can import it in to your new self-hosted WordPress.org site using the instructions available here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content#WordPress

Though the file that you download will only have your posts, pages, comments, etc; the importer will fetch all of your media from your old site and download them to your new one for you!

It says it ‘failed to import’ on all the images

    Hiya,

There is a button in your import settings which allows you to specify that you want WordPress to bring in all of your images. Did you check that box before starting the import process?

Also, image imports can fail if your images were quite large or there were quite a lot of them and your new host is set to kill scripts if they take too long. You have quite a few WordPress.com sites so I wasn’t able to check how many images you were looking at, but you may want to try breaking the export down in to a few sections by date to limit the strain on your new hosting account.
