How do I move my blog from wordpress to my domain automatically?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I have a blog at wordpress for 4 months now. Now I need to move it to my domain. Is there a way I can import all my posts? Can I just make a backup of all my posts, pages etc. into a file and import it to my domain?

domain mapping is not okay, since I would like all the posts to be stored at mydomain.com

    Thank you all in advance,

    regards,

    Dolly

  • “domain mapping is not okay, since I would like all the posts to be stored at mydomain.com” – that’s what domain mapping does.

If you do need to move to a different hosting service, you can export your content from the Manage/Export tab of your dashboard.

    Dolly,

Domain mapping does have your posts with mydomain.com as the URL. WordPress.com is a hosting service. If you are talking about using a different host, then you can install wordpress on it and use the export/import functions in your Admin => Manage sections of the blogs. Export from wordpress.com and import in your new wordpress install on another server.
