Gentlepsychotherapy.co.uk my domain with tso host, my blog at WordPress is Gentlepsychotherapy.Wordpress I am uncertain at the moment whether it would be better to combine both on the same site i.e. Word Press rather than stay with TSO host, they have been very good to me and they are not expensive, or it may be better just to transfer my email to my blog your thoughts please,
Iain my dear friend and colleague always took care of the site side of things it’s all very new to me sadly he passed with Covid recently so I’m thrown in at the deep end to finish the site -
Hi there,
Gentlepsychotherapy.co.uk my domain with tso host, my blog at WordPress is Gentlepsychotherapy.Wordpress I am uncertain at the moment whether it would be better to combine both on the same site i.e. Word Press rather than stay with TSO host, they have been very good to me and they are not expensive
It sounds like your site/domain is already hosted elsewhere and you’re unsure whether you want to continue hosting with them or move to WordPress.com, is that correct?
I’d say, a lot of it is on your personal preference. I see that the site is not launched at the moment so I don’t know how far into the site-building process you’re in with your current host, but if you prefer to use WordPress.com to build your site, you’re absolutely welcome to move the domain to us.
One thing to note is that if you want to use your custom domain (gentlepsychotherapy.co.uk) on your WordPress.com site, you will need a paid plan on your site. You can check out this page to see the different plans we have and the features they come with: https://wordpress.com/plans
We have a number of getting started guides that you can follow to start building your site on WordPress.com. We also offer email support on all paid plans and live chat support on WordPress.com Premium (yearly) and higher plans.
However, regarding your email question:
or it may be better just to transfer my email to my blog your thoughts please
Do you know who your email service provider is? The way to connect your domain to email service is by adding the required DNS records to the domain. You need to do this wherever the domain is registered at the moment. It has the nameservers from
tsodns.comso that’s where you need to add the DNS records. To simplify, here’s what you would do to connect your domain to the email service:
1. Reach out to your email service provider and ask them for the DNS records required to connect the domain with their service.
2. Reach out to tsodns.com or your domain registrar and ask them for help with adding those DNS records.Within 72 hours of adding the DNS records to the domain, your email service will start working.
If you decide to transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we can help with adding the DNS records from your email service provider. If you don’t already have an email service provider, you can choose one from the options here: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/
Again, this will be if you transfer your domain to WordPress.com or map it to your WordPress.com site after upgrading to a paid plan.
