How do I move the date from the bottom of my blog's main page to the top?

The date on the main page of my blog is showing up near the bottom of the page. I would like to move the date higher, perhaps near my blog’s header. I tried everything, but I wasn’t successful. Can someone tell me how to move the date from my blog’s main page to a higher section? Thanks.

Dates are embedded in the URLs of every post we publish and we cannot change permalink structure.
Some themes also display dates and some do not. You can either choose to use a theme that does not display dates or you can purchase a custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing to move the date.
