How do I not show Categories or latest posts in the left side bar

  I do not want to have Categories or Latest posts in my left side bar, I got rid of all the other widgets that I was not going to use but these two still appear there. Can I get rid of them?

  Hi, you can place a blank text widget in the sidebar if you want to hide the default widgets. I have done it for you under Appearance > Widgets.
