How do I password protect my whole blog, not just posts or pages?
-
Good Afternoon. I would like to (if possible) set ONE password to access my blog. Then, if a person (once password has been entered) would like to comment, then they have to log-in using their own account. Is this possible? Thank you!

I’m afraid that’s not possible
You can either manually add a password to each post, or make your blog private and require users to be signed up to access it.

Thank you. Can you help me with a solution to this problem? We would like to use this blog as a way to convey information to some retail stores that we own. We need to make sure that access is pretty restricted. I don’t want to put passwords on all of the posts, because we’d want to change the password every month or so, and it would take forever to have to go to each post individually to change the password. So we probably need to just authorize email addresses to access. Ideally we’d set up each store’s store email account with a WordPress account. Problem is that we would have problems with store managers losing the password, ex-employees gaining access, etc, etc. Is there any way to set up a master account in which i can have “sub users”? For instance, if I can have all 200 accounts roll up into my e-mail address, then I can manage everyone’s password from one place. Any way this is possible? If not, can you suggest some creative ways for us to manage this? (Two main concerns are #1: making sure our information is protected and #2: we’d like the ability for users to comment, but we want to make sure the comments are tied back to a individual user account)

Really the only way to do that would be to make the whole blog private via Settings -> Privacy in your Dashboard.
Viewers would then need to have a WordPress.com account and be invited to the blog.
You can remove and invite viewers as necessary.
