How do I pause my blog

  Hi

  I’ve just recently transferred 2 blogs from my own domain names to be hosted on wordpress, these are now appearing on my wordpress account and are now live.
  I did not want to switch these live straight away as I haven’t had time to add content to them, is there a way I can pause these blogs so they don’t appear live?

  Here you go:

  Settings —> Privacy —> check “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” —> Save Changes

  From my undrestanding what 1tess is proposing would work but no notifications will be sent to search engines. If you want to hit your search engines right away write all your articles in draft and then publish them at the “go live” time.

  A “halfway house” would be to write most posts in private mode, go public, then post one or two really good articles you had in draft to notify the search engines of your site.
