How do I place banners or ads on my page

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to put the logos or banners of some sponsors or supporters on my page. Ideally arranged vertically along the left side of the page. How can I go about doing that?
Can I use my current theme? Or do I need to get a new one?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:

    WordAds

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:

Even though I have had this blog for several years I’m far from proficient.

I assume by self hosted you mean the page is created by us, NOT using one of your themes?
Since I am using your theme, does that mean I need to use wordsads?

Cost? And how do I implement?

  • Self-hosting means that you install WordPress from http://wordpress.org/ on a hosting provider of your choice and manage the blog yourself. Please see this for details: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

As long as you are at WordPress.com, WordAds is the only option. There is no cost (besides the requirement of a custom domain) to be a part of WordAds, and you can read more about it and request an invitation to the program at http://wordads.co/
