how do I point my domain at create.net

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to point my domain simonpaulwoodward.com at my new create.net website. They advised that I needed to:

“You will need to contact the company who registered your domain name for you and ask them to “Change the DNS ‘A Record’ to 194.187.56.56”.

In the Domain names section I have added hostname: http://www.create.net with the IP requested below, but I am still not seeing the new site when I browse the domino name. It just returns me to my wordpress blog. Please Can you help.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Simomn – Adding an A record to point to an IP isn’t the optimal way to point your domain to another website from our system. Instead, we recommend you go ahead and fully transfer your domain out to a full service registrar, such as GoDaddy. It will be much easier for you to manage your domain with your new site from there.

You can transfer your domain by following these instructions:

Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

If you have any trouble, please let me know which step you’re getting stuck at, and what happens when you try to follow it. I’ll be happy to help you out! :)
