How Do I Post to WordPress and get it on my site?
-
We are just getting into how to blog and post and whatnot. We have a wordpress.com account and will soon have our own web domain that we will post our blogs to. Does anyone know how to create blogs in wordpress.com and then get it to show up on our website? This is all so confusing to me right now and I’m trying to get it all straight. If anyone else has done this before and knows the “proper” way to do it, any feedback would be much appreciated!

Are you aware that there are Google penalties for creating “duplicate content”? Please read this entry wherein Google provides instructions to help you avoid being penalized http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66359
You can post a link to the RSS feed for your blog on our website and that will not amount to creating duplicate content. -
It sounds like what you really want to do is not have a WordPress.com blog, but to install WordPress software and have the blog right on your own site. You’d get instructions for that at WordPress.org.

Agreed and if hereother does decide to pruchase a domain, hire a web host and download a free install from wordpress.ORG then he/she needs to know that the contents of the wordpress.com site he/she is blogging on can be exported out of that site and imported into the new install on their own domain.
