how do I post under a page?

    I have four menus at the top.. I am a Spanish teacher and I would like to organize my posts under each level, for example a post would show up on my home page but ALSO on the Spanish 2 page, or the homework page, and not just be a category..

    You can assign categories to your posts and add category pages to your menu.

    For e.g. you can create a category name homework and add this category to your homework posts. This post will appear both on your home page and in the category page.

    You can create multiple categories and their corresponding category pages.

    I have added categories.. but at the top of my site I also have 4 menus..: Home, Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and “About this course”. I want my posts to show up as a category for these pages AND be seen exclusevily on these menu pages.. So for example, students could go to the category section and click Spanish 2 OR click link at the top of the home page that says Spanish 2 and ONLY Spanish 2 posts would be listed there..

    Espanol 1 and Espanol 2 that are on your menu are normal pages, not category pages. So first remove them from your menu. Here is how to remove menu items: https://cloudup.com/crfa0sDjd4v

    Now add Espanol 1 and Espanol 2 category pages to the menu. Here is how to add categories to menus: https://cloudup.com/czRIZO5u8pE

    When you do this, all the posts that you categorized as Espanol 1 will appear both on your Home page and on Espanaol 1 page.

    Can I keep Spanish 1 and 2 as normal pages and exclusively post under each of them for each class?

    You can try using Display Posts Shortcode but the format of the displayed posts will be slightly different.

    As you already have espanol-i and espanol-ii categories, in Spanish 1 page add this shortcode:
    [display-posts category="espanol-i" include_date="true"]

    In Spanish 2 page add this:
    [display-posts category="espanol-ii" include_date="true"]

    This is great!!! Exactly what I was hoping for.. so students could click in two places for their class… Can you give me a code also for drop down menu under Sp. 1 and sp. 2 which i is the homework listing?

    Does it keep updating my new posts in the category Spanish 1? Seems maybe that it doesn’t..

    OK.. I have another question too. When I make a new post, for example “Práctica de los verbos de AR” I attach it to the category, Espñol 2 AND La tarea, Español 2. Then.. when I go to look at the post the blog has created a NEW category called simply, “La tarea”. It has placed it under Español 2 but NOT under the homework page I want..

    Can’t figure this out..

    Create two new categories named homework-i and homework-ii.
    Add the category to your posts.

    Edit tarea-espanol-i page and add the following shortcode:
    [display-posts category="homework-i" include_date="true"]

    Edit la-tarea page and add the following shortcode:
    [display-posts category="homework-ii" include_date="true"]

    The above short codes will pick up any new posts added under the categories automatically.

    I suggest you first add the shortcodes to the pages. Then create new posts and add the categories. The shortcode will pick up all the newly added posts in its category and display them automatically.
