How do I prevent the domain of my old site from showing up in search?

  I changed the domain of my site, and I’d like to prevent the old site from showing up in search options. It shows that I deleted it. How do I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Well, that’s how search engines list sites: by URL. If you changed the URL you start over again from zero. It’ll take 4-6 months to regain a pagerank of 5 if that’s what you had before, generally speaking.

  Thanks for the feedback, but that’s not what I asked. I changed my domain name. I don’t care about the new url showing up (it’s an old blog). I just don’t want people to search for the old one and have a dead link show up. I’d rather the old site name not show up at all.

  It takes several months for search engines to clear their cache’s of deleted content –

  The old one IS dead. Apparently the Change URL process is supposed to include a redirect, but without the link to the old blog we cannot check to see if this is working or not on your old blog.

  We need both the old & new URL – the blog linked to your name is from 2009
