How do I publicise my blog more widely?

I’m not getting many views on my blog and wonder if someone can advise how I can get the blog more widely read? And how do I encourage people to hit that “like” button???? Any advice appreciated!!

Relevant tags yes but less is more. The clasic mistake new bloggers make is over-tagging their posts. Matt Cutts of Google makes it clear in his video that these days search engines pay more attention to your keywords in your content than they do to your keywords in Tags/Categories.
