how do I put a photo on my blog page?

  I was wondering how I put a photo on my blog page (i.e in the sidebar, on top, etc.) Another basic question I know but I have done the appropriate research and am apparently too stupid to find the answer. :)

  Thanks but I don’t want to create a link with the photo. Just the most simple basic thing – to put a photo on the page. This must be pretty easy but I just can’t seem to see how to do it – I’m new to wordpress. I already searched and got all kinds of things like avatars and stuff like what you just sent. Where just the basic graphics instructions?
