How do I Put a subscribe box on my blog.

    Hi,

I’m Stephanie. I thought it be more polite to introduce myself before I post. I have http://annpresstips.wordpress.com.
I was wondering since i have a mailing list and I want people to subcribe, how in the world do I put my subscribe box on this theme. I don’t want to alter it in any other way just gain subscibers.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.
    Steph.

    Hi Steph

What are you using for your “mailing list”? There’s no such functionality built into the wp.com software so I assume you’re using an external service.

If you just want your readers to be able to get updates by email then have a look at the services feedburner offers.

You might also want to consider the “Partners” widget in the sidebar, they could be seen to be paid affiliates which aren’t allowed at wp.com.

You’ll also find that many people are put off clicking a link that points to a TinyURL as they can’t tell where it goes and could be malicious.

    Hope this helps

    Collin

If the mailing list is something that you have outside your blog, with different information, then you can make a “contact” page and then people can use that to request being put on your mailing list.

How do I make a Contact Form?

If you use the contact page, make sure and turn comments off for that page (below the editor text area) so that it will not confuse things.
