How do I put RSS so my Blog can be read by a reader?
-
I am new to RSS feeds and am trying to get my mind around it. My question is how do I put a feed on my Blog so that it can be read by an RSS reader? I have read through the entire Q&A which seems to be saying you can’t put a link on your own Blog, it seems I am missing something. I would be grateful if someone could help me with this as I have spent all day trying to understand how it works.

Your feed already exists: its address is http://dvdmaker.wordpress.com/feed . Some themes display the link to the RSS feed automatically, but the rest do not. You’ll need to either put that in a text widget in your sidebar or use the RSS widget and configure it for your own feed by putting the URL in it.

The theme I’m using only has a “RSS 1” widget. Is that different than what you’re discribing?
Do I need to use a text widget? And if I do use a text widget,…what do I put in it? Just that feed address? That’s it?Thanks in advance!

I’m doing that right now…got it to show up but it’s not the little RSS logo. It’s a box with a “X” in it. But when I click on the [looks like an error box] it works…it goes to “You are viewing a feed that contains frequently updated content” page.
Any help with the “x” box?
Thank you!

what was your answer, because I keep getting that box with an “X” in it and when I click on it, it brings up a FAQ box??? How is that an RSS feed? Am I missing something?
