How do I put up Google Adsense ads on my blog?
-
Hey raincoaster. You are very helpful but I think it is time to get a sense of humor or a personality. What is the deal with all the 3rd grade teacher attitude like everything is so serious. It is life. We are all in it together. Relax. Live a bit man. Jeebus

Thanks for that. You changed my life. In future I’ll look to these Google Adsense threads to supply the joy that has been missing in my existence. Wow, dude.
Just, Wow.

It’s just too bad we can’t have Adsense in WordPress.com. The templates look very professional if you compare with Blogger.com’s. I just registered with WordPress, guess I have to pull my blog out. What a waste! But just wondering…are all ads not permitted in WordPress? If not, what are they? Most peolple hook up to the net to make cash online, & I’m one of them. If WordPress can help people like me, it’s just like my prayer’s answered. Thanks:)

I too have found that my most popular postings are riddled with ads, all over the place. I don’t want them there unless I am going to make money from them – it’s free advertising from my witty postings – no fair!
So firstly, can i remove them? And secondly, if I can’t can I move them to somewhere less obvious, like a side bar? HELP!!!!! -
annahm: It has been said before but you can always put your blog on a domain of your own and have ALL THE ADS you want….Trust me, your not the only one going for a quick buck so you might have to do some competition with the ADD pro’s that have more ad’s on their website than actual content.
Question to everyone: Do most people really go on the net to make money?? What happened to having a job? (Unless of course your real job involves IT and the internet)
vintageporridge: nope you cant remove them…… and nope those ads are for wordpress.com….. that’s why all of this here is free…
Is it cool if you show me the link with all the ads on your blog post?? I have actually never seen the ads before on any wordpress.com blog!
-
I would send you a link if it was consistent but unfortunately it isn’t – sometimes ads are there, sometimes not – they never appear on the blog when I access it through wordpress, just through good searches on the tags. It’s weird. When I go back to see if they are there, they have disappeared! Take my word for it, they look terrible! I even had a big old embedded video thing advertising some mortgage or another – not terribly relavent to a vintage sewing and interiors blog hmm?

raincoaster if u dont feel like replying i think it would help by just not typing?
if you are a moderator then use that tone,if not u jolly well just don’t reply or reply in a nice tone.
you seriously need communication skills lectures badly, like seriously

Riraito: you would be sorry you said that. Raincoaster is among the most helpful volunteers here on wordpress. You can’t help how people type on the internet…. Take me for example… I type (and hence sound) like I am a retarded monkey…while I could be working for NASA for all you know…. Besides you probably already know that what one types may very well be NOTHING like how the person is in real life… It is so easy to make up a tone of voice via the internet that the nicest person can be a serial killer and vice versa…
So in conclusion… have a lollipop for your sore tuberculosis shot and dont stress about how people give you an answer… Be grateful they even bother reading up on hundreds of questions a day to answer people like you and me…
PEACE!

Thanks, pkayski. It’s appreciated.
riraito apparently hasn’t gotten over the time I corrected him about the link in his sigfile. I’m sure in time he will find a way to move on.

So. Am I understanding this correctly? Adsense is not allowed on our blogs? ;-P I mean the recurring theme here seems to be that Adsense is not allowed on our blogs. So I just thought I would ask. Just to be sure. In case the FAQ was wrong. So. You really cannot put adsense on your own blog, huh?
(Sorry couldn’t resist.)
This got to be a fun read. Thanks raincoaster, et al.

You’re welcome. By the way, you can’t use Adsense on your blog. In case you were thinking of putting Adsense on it. You can’t.

Okay. WordPress is basically sounding pretty weak right now. I have written down what I need to learn. This consists of
-optimizing my title tags
-displaying a header image
-using plug-ins
-and implementing adsenseWhen I look on the internet on how to do these things it just says to go to the plug-ins tag. Well, there is no plug-ins tab. When I look about implementing adsense I find that you (can’t.) Well, if this is the case, how come I see so many wordpress blogs that accomplish the task?
WordPress looks a lot more solid compared to blogger in terms of SEO and in terms of the look of the page itself, but frankly, it seems way more complicated then they make it. I know what I want, but haven’t found one way to do it. This is garbage. I guess it’s back to blogger for me folks. Maybe once I learn how to host my own site and do whatever else you need to do to get this to work I will come back. Until then, I’m out.

You’re looking in the wrong places. Have you read the sticky thread at the very top of the forum on the differences between WordPress.org and wordpress.com?
If you want SEO, you want WordPress.com. But there are compromises. Familiarize yourself with those before you commit.
