How do I re-register a domain with WordPress.com?

    To whom it may concern:

    I have a domain name which I purchased quite a few years back (if I remember from godaddy). I then transferred this same domain to a website hosting service and they have been managing this domain since. This service is no longer viable for my needs and I have cancelled my account but would like to retain the domain to use on wordpress.com. I have been told by the company that I need to transfer the domain into an account at a registrar of my choosing. They have unlocked the domain from their end and given me an authorisation code.

    I would like to re-register this account directly with wordpress.com rather than going to a third party.

    How can I go about this please?
