How do I reattach admin bar to browser?

  • Unknown's avatar

…I’m a reader, commenter on TSTOADDICTS and the Admin Bar was attached to my browser, which is Silk on the kindlefire…well it WAS attached, now it is attached to the site’s page and goes away when I scroll down…very annoying…what did I do to change it and can I change it back?

There was a temporary glitch that removed the admin bar, but that was resolved.

Please try clearing your browser cache, and it should return:

If it doesn’t, please let me know.

Okay, cleared cache, cookies, history…finally guessed my password but the admin bar is still attached to the blog page, not the browser…

The admin bar is part of WordPress.com and will only show up when you’re logged in and in WordPress.com. It isn’t going to be attached to your browser at all.

However, if you’re seeing something very different from what you’re used to seeing, could you please take a screenshot and upload it to your media library so I can take a look?

    Take a Screenshot

By the way…Hey Jackie…I not seeing anything different, it’s just that up until last week this “toolbar” of yours WAS part of my browser…as long as I was logged in, I could run off to yahoo and still see if I had a reply…now that toolbar stays on the blog page…very annoying to have to scroll up 75 comments to the top of the page to check replies… ;)

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

Otherwise please upload a screenshot as suggested by Jackie. This way we can better understand the issue.

I’m on a kindlefire that only uses the Silk browser…there’s nothing to screenshot…your toolbar is there until I scroll down…it stays at the top of the page…which, of course goes up, out of sight…I wouldn’t know how to send you a screenshot if there was something to see…

Does it matter that it is combined with Gravatar?…the adminbar started when I applied an avatar and profile with Gravatar…toolbar was very helpful but now it’s a burden to get to…

That’s actually normal behavior for mobile browsing. We’ve registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates!
